DAVID JUNICHI SAKAI
Chief Business Officer (Asia)
David Sakai is leading the Asia team as the Chief Business Officer (ASIA) for Comperio. In his current role, David is responsible for Strategy, Business and Channel Development, as well as heading up Comperio Hong Kong.
He is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the Printing Technology Industry. Adept in providing solutions for customer print related needs. Started career in key professional positions at leading print technology companies during a time when the whole industry was transitioning from traditional/analogue to digital print.
Before joining the Group Mr. Sakai started his career with Scitex Corporation working on input systems converting analogue slide/films to digital image files. As a result of Creo’s acquisition of Scitex (and later acquired by Kodak), Mr. Sakai moved onto various marketing and business development roles in the Asia Pacific Region.
In 2007, Mr. Sakai started W-Print, a printing company which specializes in packaging printing for major retailers and private brands. Client lists consists of Walmart, Target, JC Penney, Tesco, Disney, Bed Bath & Beyond, TJ Max, etc… W-Print was also one of the first printers to utilize and take advantage of HP’s Indigo Digital presses to serve the increasing demand of short run/variable printing.
David holds a B.S. in Printing Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology (U.S.), with concentration in Color Management. David is also an avid wine enthusiast with a WSET Level 2 certification.
